About Old Town Editions
Old Town Editions was founded by Chris Foley, an artist with 25 years experience in print production and Mark McCormick-Goodhart, a photographic scientist formerly at the Smithsonian Institution from 1988 to 1998 who is also an avid photographer. Our goal was simple: to make the best possible Iris (or “giclée”) prints for ourselves. We had tried other giclee producers and were less than satisfied with the results, particularly in the areas of color management, repeatability and longevity. For the better part of a year we worked on color calibration, laboriously measuring target prints for colorimetric values on many different substrates. We utilized every technological advance available in hardware and software and evaluated the results based on the aesthetic principles that had motivated our quest in the first place. We rapidly found ourselves printing for other artists and photographers who demanded the highest quality. Without exception they loved the results. For over 10 years we have been providing our clients with this same high level of quality.
For the last three years Rachel Baron and Patrick McMahon have been taking over more of the tasks of the daily operations here at Old Town Editions. Working closely with Chris Foley they have dedicated themselves to carrying on his legacy of high quality and professionalism in fine art digital printmaking. Rachel has an MFA in painting from Pratt Institute and has been working in the field of digital printmaking for over 10 years. Patrick has an extensive background in photography, ranging from portrait photographer to
lab technician in a state of the art photo lab. Patrick also has a Bachelor's degree in business from the University of Maryland. The combined knowledge and experience of Chris, Rachel, and Patrick makes an excellent resource for anyone interested in Giclee printing.
